Queen of Hungary's Water is a facial toner with a interesting story and a lot of mystery. Steeped in folklore, some stories claim this toner was developed by an alchemist in the 1300s, others say it was a gift from a traveling gypsy. Most stories claim that this herbal concoction had near magical "fountain of youth"-type results and turned back the clock for the Queen's skin, making her appear at least 25 years younger.
No matter the stories, this astringent is excellent for all skin types and especially beneficial for the oily/acne prone. It tones and tightens pores, balances pH and soothes itchy skin. Spray directly onto clean face or onto a cotton pad and wipe gently. Allow to dry then apply your favorite moisturizer.
For as many different tales there are, there are just as many variations to the recipe. This one starts with apple cider vinegar, infused for a full moon cycle with calendula flowers, rose petals, lemon balm, chamomile, comfrey leaf, lemon peel, rosemary sprigs and sage leaves. It is then blended with witch hazel and alcohol. Essential oils of rosemary, sage and lavender to balance the scent of the vinegar.
Bottled in a 2 oz frosted glass bottle with a fine mist spray top.
